How this site is made, privacy policy, etc

Hi! Thanks for reading the Hiro.Report– This site and newsletter is made in Austin, Tx by your faithful host and curator, Hiro!

How the Newsletter/Site is Made and Hosted

I collect the links I share over the course of each week using an iOS / MacOS shortcut I built that captures the link and title of a webpage and passes it to a pinned note I have in the Bear app.

At the end of the week, I scrub through my list and pick out the top 5 things I think are worth sharing and then write out my notes on each of them directly in Bear, using Markdown format.

After using several different hosting solutions, I am currently hosting the site and newsletter via Ghost.org, using the free Digest theme.

I use Plausible, a Europe-based, GDPR-compliant, privacy-oriented analytics platform to track and support the growth of site. It does not utilize any cookies.

Privacy Policy

I see privacy as a fundamental human right, so my policy on it is pretty simple and straightforward:

1. No Selling Your Info: I promise never to sell your information. Ever.

2. Email Usage: If you sign up for the newsletter, I’ll only use your email to send you the Hiro Report newsletter and updates, nothing else. No SPAM. Unsubscribe at any point.

3. Third Parties: I won’t share your details with anyone else. Period.

4. Data Security: I will do everything I reasonably can (as someone who barely understands how the internet works) to keep your info safe and secure.

That’s it! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
